Are wood chips bad for chickens?

Hello there and welcome to BYC!
No the birds won't get splinters. Are you using them in the run or coop? Wood chips are not very poop absorbent and once they get wet, they stay wet, breeding disease and parasites. So they really aren't great for bedding or litter for your run.
