Opinions please! I saw a Wyandotte yesterday and loved the look of her. Are they good layers? If they are then I will try to hatch some to sell and keep 2 for myself. They need to be good layers for me to sell them at point of lay.
Thanks for your help.

My Gold Lace is a good layer. She's 3yo now and I probably get about 5 per week now. Got about 6-7 per week the last couple years. She is a little slower in the winter.

My Wyandottes are just starting to lay, but they are lovely birds and so entertaining. Beautiful too. We bought them as pullets from a local guy and he says they lay steady year round, not like some that really slow down in the winter.

They're not "great" layers, but they're "good" layers. You wont get an egg every day like you do from a lot of sex links, rirs and such, but they are good layers...4-5 eggs a week.

I have wyandottes and as one of the posters said, they're good layers....consistent...lovely to look at and even tempered. My silver lace is the sweetest girl always gently "singing" to everyone!
