I just got finished, and so proud of my chicken coop. It is spacious for two hens, which is what I was planning on keeping. Key word: PLANNING. Now, provided there are no roosters in my flock of four (FINGERS CROSSED) I will be keeping every one of them. There will be no rehoming. These chickens are intelligent, manipulative, and caniving little beasts! Their weapon of choice? Adorability (just made it a word).

So.. Now I have to add to my coop, though I have NO idea how. It is constructed with a base line of a welded metal dog crate. Large size, but it's area is 8 feet and that only fits two chickens

I would like to keep this crate/coop involved if possible, purely because it is so darn predetor proof. (added plywood to sides and hardwood cloth to top/bottom and the locking door)

I will take pictures and post them as soon as I can.. Just need advice on how to add to the coop without totally making a mess of things.

I'm having a hard time visualizing your set up. I'll check back after you post some pics. Off the top of my head, however, if you have a dog crate with a run attached, perhaps you can place a matching crate next to the existing crate, or perhaps one at the opposite end of the run.

Here are some pictures when it was a work in progress.

There will be a slanted roof added and plywood to the bare sides.
