Are your guineas laying yet?

I've found one egg, about the size of a bantam old english hen's egg, about 3 days ago. I'm sure it is from one of my last fall hatchlings, due to the size and the location of the egg (right in the yard in front of their coop). I was just wondering if anyone else has laying guineas? I'm in southern KY, so not really in 'the north', but not quite 'the south' either. I don't remember when they started laying last year, but I think it was later than this.

Mine are definently old enough. I caught 4 hens and a rooster and locked them up in hopes of collecting me a dozen guinea eggs to incubate, but no eggs so far.

I'm in the San Diego area and mine have been laying for a month. One is already broody. They lay in funny places - on the ground in the corner or just in a hole in the dirt. I just stumbled on to some of them. When they first started laying the eggs were in the chicken nest boxes but not for long. That would be much too easy.

Mine just started last week. I"ve gotten a whopping 3 eggs so far, but all have been fertile and I'm very pleased. Once they get regular I'll start collecting for the incubator.

My young guineas are definitely laying. They are in a hoop house with some 6-7 month old LF pullets. The chickens have decided that their 'roost' is in the rafters of the front porch

So last night I snatched all their butts off there and put them back in their house. I didn't let them out today, cause they would just be right back on the porch (like the 2 that escaped

). Obviously I couldn't let the guineas out either. I got 3 guinea eggs in that pen today

Now if only I could find out where the older ones are laying, cause I would think they'd be laying as well....

Mine aren't laying yet but my males are getting nasty with anything that moves near the females.

Someone that lives close by me, (Rogersville) posted in Craigslist that his guineas just started laying last week. I wish mine would get on the ball!!
