I can't figure it out. I have one little poult that just can't be quiet. I have three of them. I've checked the temperature (they seem fine, sometimes under the lamp sometimes not), food, water (made sure to put sparkly marbles in it), and checked for injuries. No injuries that I can find.

It makes this really loud 5 note peep. Over and over and over. The only time I have noticed it quiet was when my husband is home and talking to it. Then it makes the happy little chirps and trills. It is also quiet the moment it is drinking. But only until it gets the water down. It even peeps while eating. Can a day old hatchery chick imprint on someone? I thought they would imprint on the first large object they see (which I think would be the workers at the hatchery, other people at the store I bought it at).

They are almost a week old now and are starting to get longer wing feathers.

Are some turkey poults just whinier than others?

Forgive me from laughing.
I have one hen that I saved as a layer out of last years batch out of 30 birds and it drives me crazy with its overly active super load chucking for apparent no reason. (that i can see)
All because she was the right colour.
Have to shack my head and say, why?

I can't figure it out at all. The other two are just normal little peepers but this one seems to whine and complain a lot. Maybe that's how I should name it. Whiny.

Kind of, once she/he wakes up I will take a vid and post it. For a change it is quiet. I checked on it to see if it was dead but it is just there cheeping in it's sleep.

I'm trying a pair of bronze breasted turkeys this spring and I have one that chirps non-stop during the day, but switches to subtle chirps and coos when I walk by the hutch or open it to tend to food/water :) I have been giving them a lot of attention (and insects) and I think it's begging.

I'm having the same problem. What my husband calls the constant peeping or cheeping as a locator call. When we're not around its constantly doing the call and when we're in the room it will quiet down for a minute until we talk to her then she goes back into her quiet little peep mode. We figured she is actually wanting attention and to be outside of her bin. Its gotten so bad its driving me up the wall with the constant noise. When we have her outside she follows us around as if we're her parents. She's not alone we paired her with a little tom and she's still not satisfied. Does anyone have a sure fire method to quieting the constant peeping. Pulling out my hair over this. We have two older turkeys (2 months) that we raised from babies and we didn't have this kind of problem with them at all as well as the chickens we've been raising. HELP! Somebody!

OMGoddess I have one of those too! I hatched four bronze poults. They were all chirpy and trilling the first week. They are 8 days okd now and one are getting their feathers and they are so cute! One of them makes that five-in-a-row screaming chirp though and it’s really loud!! Lol! I check the food and water about eight times a day at least and keep the floor of their pen as clean as possible. They all have clean bottoms and clean feet. They all eat and drink and run around. They are all pretty close to the same size and coordinated walkers and runners. This one is the chirpiest noisiest little one! It’s also the one trying the most to fly, I noticed. When I talk to them (which is every time I go into the bathroom where the pen is set up) they all look at me and stand quiet. If I pick up the little noisy one and cuddle it, it shuts right up! I can’t cuddle it all day, hahaha! I cover the top screen on their hatchling kennel with a towel and that helps. A friend recommended getting a real feather duster and hanging it in one corner. I’m going to try that.

Did anyone ever solve this problem? I have a 4 week old poult that is doing the same thing. There are other turkeys and chicks in the yard but he freaks out as soon as I disappear. I have to keep him as a house turkey because he was literally calling in every predator for miles around.

I tried giving him a radio but it only worked for a week.
