Artificial Insemination in Geese

So that's the reason people use AI to keep a breed alive that has a hard time reproducing on its own.. because they like the way they look? Is it the weight that makes it difficult for them, and if so, wouldn't it be easier to keep them going if they bred a bit smaller? Like I said, I don't know anything about AI or why people do this. I'm not judging, just looking for clarification. It seems odd to me, but I'm new to this.

Sometimes. like I said in my opinion. I believe it is their size is cause for the problem. I believe the Exhibition toulouse can breed in as long as the water is 18 -20 inches deep, but it is a problem with these large geese. But the largeness is what I love about them. As some stated earlier on broad breasted turkeys have problems breeding naturally(of course this is a food source). Several breeds of show quality bantams(silkies, cochins) have such short back that they can have difficulty breeding naturally.
