Ascites

Has anyone had experiance with removing peritonitis fluid from a chicken?

I know I've seen postings from people who have done it but I took my hen to an avian vet and he removed the liquid.

How much was the vet bill?

I belive it was $55 or there abouts.

you are lucky! Just to walk in the vets office here costs 50$. Can't really imagine what it would cost to do the procedure. I think we might do it ourselves, others had had sucess with it. 50$ is a little expensive for us now.

How would one prepare for this? Can I use Durvet Pen Aqueous as an antibiotic?
