Asparagus = STINKY!!

So we've been using the deep litter method with our now 4 week old chicks. We have had no smell issues at all until the last couple days. They were so STINKY! I thought it was just that they were getting older but while chatting with a friend I realized that we fed them the slightly tougher ends of our asparagus (chopped small and with plenty of grit sprinkled on top) the other day and that is when the stench started. I cleaned out their bedding and the stank has not recurred. Note to self: Don't give them asparagus unless they're outside.

I've read that asparagus can make the eggs taste funny as well.

I believe it. I don't have to worry about that yet but thanks for the heads up. I'm not sure I would have considered that.
