I am not one who likes to deal with uncertainties but I understand. Vets and lab testing gets expensive and if you don't have a lot of birds like I do it may not be worth the expense to find out for sure what you are dealing with.Hi. I spoke with my vet and because my hen is getting better, but still gaping, he assumes it's aspirigillosis because it takes so long to treat the fungus. She is getting her voice back slowly. I also assume because I did put mulch in there, which harbors fungus and mold.
I'm not 100 percent certain, but the symptoms and environment fit the aspirigillosis diagnosis.
