I had a duck egg with an intact air cell at the pointy end of the egg. I figured it would be an early quitter but to my amazement it made it to today. I woke up this morning day 27 and I had a feeling that the baby was positioned wrong and had its head at the fat end which would be great if the air cell was there. I snatched it out of the incubator while I was adding water and candled it. I then noticed it’s little beak pecking around in the fat end. I had one like this before and it drowned and I didn’t want that to happen again. So I took a needle and poked a hole near it’s beak and then made a small hole around it’s beak area. Used some coconut oil and then put it in the incubator and now to wait and see how it goes. Hoping for the best. I’m just glad this one didn’t drown.
