hi everyone! Just wrapped up my first hatch ever! Today marks day 28 and keet #6 pipped two days ago, so I provided some assistance. The keet did most of the work, but it was likely in there too long. It's drinking and eating, but will not straighten its next. I saw it reach around to its wings, so I know it can, it just won't. Instead it sleeps in a headstand position and wakes up scared from going a somersault. I made an ACV, molasses sugar, baking soda, vitamin E & sea salt mixture in warm warmer and administering via eye drops. It response well. Anyone have something similar? How's the success rate? I'm cool with having a hunchback guinea. I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything.

First 12 hours were tough, but the keet is responding well to my homemade electrolyte mix. The curled foot is normalizing and with some stretching and massaging, it can pick up its head enough to walk. It can eat and drink on its own, but is far from normal. If anyone has experience, any feedback is welcomed. I'll keep updating in the event someone needs this in the future.

Update for anyone else running into this problem: the keet made a full recovery! We did drops for three days, gentle stretches and massage. I referred to it is guinea PT. It hatched on Saturday and as of Thursday, you couldn't tell the difference between Quasimodo and the rest of the flock.

I haven't been in the Guinea Fowl forum prior to the this because I didn't have guineas, but I have some hatching in the incubator right now, so appreciate your posts. I had heard of something similar with chicks that had prolonged hatches - glad to hear that your little one has completely recovered! :woot

Guess you'll have to rename him or her..? lol
