We have the following chicks for sale for $10 each. These pullets were born the last week of April. They are 8 weeks old and are ready to go outside. But they are NOT big enough to be incorporated with full-grown chickens. They need to be 12 weeks or older to go in with full grown chickens--right now they are too little and would be hurt. Min. purchase of 2 chickens unless you have proof that you have other young chickens. A chicken is a flock bird and needs others.
2 White Leghorns--the most productive egg producers. Lay white eggs
1 Buff Orpington--rated the best chicken breed on backyardchickens.com. Sweet and productive egg layers. Good dual purpose for meat when they are done laying.
2 Wellsummers--these chickens lay beautiful dark brown speckled eggs. Some can be chocolate brown in color.
1 Who Knows--she was in the buff orpington bin, but is certainly not that. She is very sweet and I am very fond of her. I think she is half Rhode Island Red and half White Leghorn. Both of those are extremely productive egg layers.
1 Gold Laced Wyndotte--these are lovely birds. Decent layers and good for meat too. We have a silver laced and she is very sweet and pretty.
We also have a Wellsummer rooster--oops! He is going to grow up to be beautiful--that is the breed that they modeled the Kellog's rooster on. I wish we could keep him, but roosters disturb our neighbors. He is not mean. He is free if you want to take him. Make sure that you are allowed to have roosters--you can only have them in the unincorporated areas of counties.
