last week i had a chicken who wouldnt open her eyes she was sleeping all day i had to force her to drink but couldnt get her to eat...she ened up passing away ...when she was sick i took her to a vet and he wasnt very much help at all. . well here we are again one of her flock mates is doing the same thing she is at least drinking a little bit but just laying around when she stands up it looks like she is drunk her poop is very runny and green eyes ae clear no fluids from the nose or beak.she doesnt free range but has a very large run outside.i dont know what to do any advice would be awesome.

I'm sorry for your loss, Tatertot85. What has the weather been like there? What are your girls eating? Have they been wormed or been on an antibiotic course recently? My gut says coccidiosis, but that's just because it's a pretty common cause of failing chickens. http://www.poultryhub.org/health/disease/types-of-disease/coccidiosis/ Maybe consider offering her some hard boiled or scrambled eggs, yogurt with live cultures and water with apple cider vinegar while you try to pinpoint what exactly is taxing your flock. Best of luck!

Oh dear, I am so sorry you lost a second chook, sometimes whatever we do it just isn't enough, there are some things that are going to kill our chickens and there is absolutely nothing we can do to stop it happening..... You cared for your chickens and did your best, don't beat yourself up X

thank u so much for the kind words...

i was treating every one with corid but i was scared that was what got the 2 sick....

Treating with Corid will not cause coccidiosis, nor anything else. It is Amprolium which is a thiamin blocker. It creates an environment which is not suitable for coccidia to overgrow and kill the bird. With treatment cocci remain but at low or normal levels thereby allowing the bird to develope immunity.
