I have a feeder just like that and our chicks can get in it at about 10 weeks old. One of our birds literally has like no neck lol and she can get in there!

I used 2 inch elbows and shortened them. I put it in with the chicks at 2 - 3 weeks old. I also left the regular chick feeder in with them for 1 - 2 weeks, until most of them were using this feeder. I didn't get chicks this year, so going off memory. If this is your first time using this style, fill the elbow up from the outside, so they can see feed inside the elbow. This will help them get the hang of it quicker, by sticking their head inside.
