I was just curious, mine don't have them yet.

A friend of mine said he has some youngsters whose legs have changed already. He is asking $5 each on them, is that a good price? I would really rather have birds instead of eggs, I only got 4 of 12 local eggs to hatch.

So what age do chukars legs change, and is $5 each for young, orange-legged chukars a good price?

Thanks!

Shelley I'm Not Sure... Mine Are Around 10-12 Wks Old And Have Orange Legs... Not Quite Sure When The Change Happened, Wasnt Really Watching That Close. As Far As Price.... Remember Price Is A Geographically Relative Thing.... But As Far As What I Have Seen Birds Here In Fl Sell For At Auction I'd Be All Over 5 Dollar Started Chukars. I'd Buy All He Has Then Keep What I Want And Probably Make My Money Back Off Of The Ones I Liquidated At Auction The Next Weekend, Because They're Fetching $10+ A Piece Here In Fl At The Auctions We Go To....

And It Gets You Out Of Incubating And Eliminates Alot Of Loss You;ll Take But Unhatched Eggs...

Day old chicks were selling in our area at BIG R for $4 a pop, so I would say $5 is awesome. I sell young adults for $30 a pair in the fall.
