Really all depends on the hen. Some of mine started at 20 weeks other started at 24.

My Easter Egger and Silver Laced Wyandotte began laying at 17-18 weeks. Look for your birds to do the "egg squat." Once they start doing it, they're usually 1 to 2 weeks away from laying their first egg.
