Hi i just bought a dog run from home depot and want to use it as my run and a tractor. 10x6x6 . I cant really cut the chain link to fit around or line up with the coop door cause im afraid it will loosen the chain link and start to fall apart. Any ideas? Thanks for any help in advance. db

Not sure if you can see it well in this pic. But I had a similar situation. In fact I had to build about a two foot tunel to get to the run but I was woried about cutting the chain link too. Finaly I just did it and it worked just fine. Didn't loosen up or unravel.

I have not done chain link, just welded wire, but what I did was make two frames the same size and put one on each side of the fence. I cut the hole in the fence then screwed the frames together to clamp the fence in place. Then I put a guillotine type door on it. This lets them out to the electric netting area from the run.

If you don’t wish to just cut it like Duckman suggested, you could put the clamp on first, then cut the hole, but you’ll have sharp edges to deal with. You could trim that out to cover the sharp edges as long as you make the hole big enough.

I did about the same thing Duckman, but my tunnel was made out of hardware cloth with a plywood floor. It connected the grow-out coop to the run.

Yeah the tunnel works good but when it rains they all hang out in there and cleaning the poop out of there is a little bit of a pain but not to bad.
Great idea tho to build two frames for each side of the hole

Chainlink is made up of diamond's. Just cut the bottom of one & bend it up. Cut the top of the same one lower & bend it down the cut piece will twist out kinda like a cork screw. Repeat same thing other side. Then cut each side of the diamond on top of the hole your making & bend each cut up. Repeat on bottom & bend down. It's really easy if I was there I could do it in 5 minutes. I did fence work for 7 years though. Hope this helps.

You guys rock! Im gonna see about cutting it and runnin' the frame on each side. Thank you all! db
