Attaching welded wire to bottom of coop

For aesthetic purposes, dear husband decided to attach the 2x4 welded wire to the backside of the bottom of the coop. Not so fun!
All I could think of was, "where are the ruby slippers with the black and white striped stockings"

He also decided, for structural integrity, to not attach the wire directly to the t1-11siding.
With no prior building experience we have learned a lot from you all at BYC and youtube. Thanks!
The day is coming when our three chicks can be moved into their new home and out of our basement, where they have learned to escape the
storage tub and roost on a wooden ladder.

At least I attached the wire to the floor frame before I added the building's sheathing...but, I won't tell you things I forgot to do, and then ended up having to figure out a way like your husband. Hope he made it out OK, or did his legs wither and disappear under the coop, just leaving those magic sneakers?
