Attacks

I have an 8 year old hen. She is being aggressively attacked by several other hens. I have her in a 5x5 cage, in the run. She wants out with her flock. If she gets out, 3 other hens rush to attack her. They will also patrol her cage, they really want to kill her, I think. I thought about putting those 3 in her cage and letting her out in the run. Do you think there is any chance that will calm them down? If so, how long should I leave them in there?

I think you have a great idea. May I suggest though that you keep one of those three meanies with her? I bet without backup, that one won't be aggressive anymore. I would try that and see and let those two roam around together bonding better. Then, I'd try a second one, and eventually the third.

I'd guess a week for each change you make.
