August too late to start chicks in Illinois?

Due to unfortunate circumstances I probably won't be able to start chicks until later this year. Would August be too late in the year giving them only 3 months to so before the cold weather to start coming in?

I think that would be ok. As long as they are fully feathered, which they would be, I think that would be ok. I hope someone else with a little more experience with this offers some advice!
