Augusta Maine swap-Saturdays Oct 15th & 22nd

I want to thank everyone that came to the swaps as buyers and sellers, I'm sure I'm not alone in saying what a great time I had and can't wait to see everyone again in the spring. we had another new swapper win the door prize this week, thanks mandy and her mom michelle. mandy had choice of door prizes and walked away with a texal guinea pig. that was one very happy little girl.

see you all in the spring (and here on the boards through winter)

it's good to feel appreciated.
lets do some brainstorming if we can. I'd like to be able to have door prizes and drawings at each swap. I noticed one in houlton that gives away a bag of grain every hour. that would be great because we all can use that including buyers. anyone have ideas how to do this? I can ask the store for a donation is one possiblity although 1 bag / swap might be a bit much to ask. another thought I had was a donation from each vendor. thoughts are donation of a product (not something someone has to feed) or maybe just $1.00 and then using that buy a TSC gift card and have a drawing from anyone that put in a buck. if we have 10 vendors @ $1.00 each, that's only $10.00 but if we held the tickets until the next swap- that could be $20 more or less. Or $10 is at least part of something they could get in the store.
so give me your thoughts, ideas, wants- let's brainstorm and make this the best swap ever!

I'm posting is this here so I can get the word out to those that attend the poultry swaps in augusta, this should be close enough for you (also posted on the maine thread) please spread the word!

hey all you mainers, the central maine bird fanciers is having their annual christmas auction. this is open to the public, you don't have to be a member to come to the auction (come join us for the meeting as well if you want). the auction will be held Nov 27th (sunday after thanksgiving) at the evening star grange hall on bill luce road in washington maine. auction will start after the 1:eek:o meeting ends (maybe 1:30?). there will be a door prize and so far I know that there are three 50# bags of layena layer crumbles for sure. if you are a club member please remember to bring your auction items or have them sent with another club member if you are not going to make it.
