Auracauna named "Gerti"

Our favorite chicken is about 17 months old. She has a swollen front toe with a black nail. Notice this 2 days ago. She has not laid an egg in 4 days(typically does every other day). Is beginning to favor it a little. Read that it may be a staph infection. How should it be cleaned/treated?
