Aussie Aussie Aussies!!!

Hey everyone,

Just wondering if there are any other Aussies out there and where everyone is from? I've had trouble finding many chook-related forums for Australian's so thought I'd ask around and see who is on here!

I'm also looking to sell/swap some roosters as we live in Suburbia and it was my boyfriends great idea to buy chickens without any research what-so-ever so we've ended up with 3 roosters in a house where our neighbours don't appreciate it too much! haha woops! We've had them for almost 6 months now and I'm slowly becoming the crazy chicken lady (according to friends) but I love them all!

We live in Sydney and would love to make some conections with other chook lovers just for future info and advice.

Yeah thanks, I have found some sites specifically for Australia but none nearly as good as this one! Thanks for the welcome! I look forward to getting some great advice on all my chicken needs

Yes I agree, this site is the best I have found. I would love to help but we don't get up your way very often. We find a lot of poultry adds in The Mercury our main Hobart paper. There are give aways in the Monday edition (mainly roosters) and usually poultry for sale in the Saturday edition.

We also have a regular livestock auction on Fridays I think in a nearby town. I am thinking that we are a bit more rural than you perhaps. Your nearest feed supplier may provide some contacts, Animal Tuckerbox, Pets Domain? We reugularly have poultry shows in Hobart, what about the poultry displays at your local shows?

Sorry got carried away, always keen to chat and help out if I can.

My current project is a small incubator, BYC has dragged me out of my blues and filled me with inspiration yet again.
