Hello there,

I am not sure if this is the right way to do this. If not, I apologize in advance. Please let me know what I should do.

I think it would be fantastic if we could set up a separate sub-forum for different countries. I live in Australia, and I'd love to have a place to ask my Aussie questions and to help other Aussies by answering their questions. There are some topics that are quite specific to each country. A sub-forum would be really helpful place to go to browse for answers.

Is this a possibility?

Thoughts, Ideas, Feedback?
Thanks in advance!
Jennifer

There is a few thread for Australians in the Where am I? Where are you! But they arent posted on very often-

I find the same thing... Things are a lot different between the two countries on some issues- and being able to direct questions to members in the same locality would be very useful.

I agree with both of you. Things like medications, flea and lice treatments etc., it would be good if it were at all possible!

I guess that's a possibility, thanks Reinbeau.
The main problem with just having one thread for our country is that when you want to search for something, or a question that has already been asked and answered, you have to read through the entire thread to find anything.

I don't think you can compare an Australian sub-forum to having a thread for a particular state within the USA.
We are in a totally different country - with a unique climate, breeds, predators, feed, shops, requirements, building materials, etc.

It would make a big difference to my BYC experience if there was a separate sub-forum for Aussie topics. I believe we have more than enough active members here to make it a viable option.

As a moderator, do you think this is a possibility?

The problem is there isn't the traffic to support a subforum - and once one is started, everyone will want it for their area, or country, or state (see the Oklahoma thread to see what I mean!), and it's a nightmare to oversee. I don't see it happening for the time being, things are always evaluated, though, so never say never

Thanks for your response.
It's unfortunate, but understandable.
Thx.

Hi guys. Thought I'd throw my support in for an Aussie sub forum!

I do understand it may be impossible but no harm in trying

Is there any way to skip forward numerous pages in a thread... e.g. I want to go from page 1 to page 18 of a thread with 28 pages... do I just have to keep going up by 2 pages at a time?

that does limit the ability for people to back and forward track through threads when looking for info.

I also understand that the Okies may have a very long thread... but the majority of that is gossip and fun rather than specific chicken focused questions (i think!! I havent actually read it

, I just looked to see what Okies were

You can changes pages easily (from page 1 to page 18) by putting the page number in the address bar. What I do is go to at least page 2 - at the end of the number in the address bar you'll see, for example, http://.........id=325588&p=10. Change that 10 to whatever page you want and hit enter, you'll be taken right to that page.
