Hi All!!
I recently bought a 10-12 week old Australorp. I had a nice plump pullet chosen out, but was then told to choose another, who was almost as plump, but developing slower.
I was told that her ear lobes were less developed and this ment she would end up a bigger, nicer bird...
How true is this?...
If this is true does this mean a slower developing bird will result in a bigger bird..?.
Any other tips on our new investments of Australorps please fill me in
THANK GUYS!!...

I do have australorps, but slower development, ear size and what not are mostly opinions. Some just mature faster than others. big birds have big legs, when I want a pullet and selecting from chicks i'll look for small short legs, looking for cockerel look for long large legs.
My australorps are great layers of large brown eggs, second only to my leghorns

Thank you for all the warm welcomes!
And thank you Steve, so it may be true, but not the best way to judge?
