Australorp not laying

Hi I have 2 Australorps and they are 12 months old, one has been laying for awhile now and her red bits are not bright red. The other one is a bit taller but same age and her red bits have been very red for awhile. I dont know about squatting. Have not noticed either of them do that. 1 goes in to coop to lay her egg other one does not even go in, not interested. What can I do.The one laying seems to be boss, she eats first, the other one is timid will not come close to me. I cant pick either of them up unless your corner them and catch them. They roam the yard all day and they are fed layer pellets and a bit of scratch and food scraps. Sugar lays but spice is not at all interested.

Since they free range are you positive that the one isn't laying somewhere's in the yard?? I would rule that out first!!

SOme chickens just lay earlier then others

sqauting just means they think your a rooster and gonna breed with them, means they think of you higher on the pecking order,if they dont squat then they think you are under them on the pecking order

Some chickens will start laying earlier then others.. like CochinBantamLover said. You should start seeing eggs from her soon.

today we found lots of eggs in the yard under a bush and in our basement window well
It sounds like you need to go on a egg hunt.
