Oh that makes sense. I couldn't tell if he was blue or not (I mean he doesn't look that blue) but was just wondering with those earlobes or not if they could be from the Andalusian.

"Blue Rocks" are Mt Healthy's (and were others) version of Hoover's first Sapphire Gems.
No they wouldn't be black unless the hatchery changed their breeding stock from the original stock.
All the original stock came from an overseas company that specializes in high laying hybrids. The female side weren't true barred rocks but a production type that looked similar.
The male side was said to be a blue Andalusian type. Type makes it sound like another production bird with similarities to Andalusians. But ya to make the sex link cross work to produce only blue and blue barred offspring the males would of had to be splash.
I don't believe your black bird is the same as your blue one but a black version.
