Australorp roo offspring

Hello all,

I just hatched first set of eggs since getting Australorp roo and I'm wondering if the chicks are sex linked? My hens are a mixed flock (rir, br, silver laced Wyandotte and 1 barred olive egger). The chicks all have black heads except 1 has a white spot. Hopefully that means only 1 roo but not sure since I'm not sure who's eggs hatched.

Any chicks with a white spot on their heads are male.

If you know who hatched from what egg you can determine a few. If you don’t, all you can know is any with the spot on head are male. If you know who hatched from what egg, birds from the barred OE and Barred rock WITHOUT a spot, are female.

If he's a Black Australorp most of the chicks will be black. If he's Blue than they'll follow the usual Blue-Black-Splash rules.

Not all male offspring will be barred, but all barred offspring will be male.
