Brooding black austrolorp hen comes complete with skin patch on her belly. She accumulated as many as 23 eggs we wanted a few chicks but not 23 lol but took all the eggs away only 8 were fertilized we gave them back to her figuring is she hatched a brood the broodiness would go away but began breaking eggs with other hens laying in same nest box ....within a week all eggs we marked as fertilized were gone. How to break her habit. Call her pancake girl as she flares out her feathers and flattens out and growls at us lol

Put her in a wired bottom crate slightly elevated off the ground for 3-5 days. Provide food and water. Most break in 3 days, but the longer they have been broody the longer it takes, up to 7 days for stubborn ones.

She's been like this for well over a month in fact we hatched out the eggs that we took from her the second time we let her accumulate a few eggs about a week later and since then we've been taking all the eggs away from her she would growl fluff up and flare out and a new wrinkle she started pecking my hand she wasn't very good at it but she did LOL
