Auto Feeder & Waterer

Im planning on building auto feeder and waterers and was wondering where I should put them. In the coop or run?

I would put in coop for shade,convenience, and if they have to stay in the coop for winter its in there.

I prefer having it outside when possible to minimize poop in the coop, but by default I would want them inside if there is no portability. Depends on your climate though. I'm in MN, so harsh winters dictate.

I have mine in my coop and I don't have a lot of poop. Although they have a big run. If it's protected outside I would do it. Otherwise I'd put it in the coop.

Mine are in the coop. Mostly because the snow gets too deep.

Making sure the water source doesn't drip is important, wet bedding is bad. During the very cold periods my water supply would stay liquid but the lines would freeze, I had to wrap them in the roof heat wire.
