Bad news is I am going to have to cancel my chick order because I can't leave babies without constant care.

I think it's a few months too late for that.

And I can't see how to provide for the needs of young chicks on a trip from California (USA/North America) to Portugal (Europe) and back again. That's on top of whatever rules there are about taking chickens across borders.
