A cheap Heath Robinson coop door opener

Is that yours? I think if I ever make an automatic opener it will also be an automatic closer.

Yes. I made it so we could close them into an inner coop at night and let them out early as we had a couple of fox cubs investigating. They seem to have lost interest now, as we scared them off every time we saw them. It was just bodged from what I had in the garage. I agree there are better options that open and close.
