Automatic Coop Doors

Try google.com and search for automatic chicken coop door.

I'm on the hunt for one, too. I was reading an article where a person had one that opened automatically at daybreak. I'm sold on the idea.

I bought an automatic door opener from Add-a-motor.com. Very excited but havent installed it yet. Coops not quite ready for it yet. Suppose to hook into timer and open and close as many times as I want dawn to dusk.

i was thinking about buying a " Add-a-motor D20 chicken coop motor". It would cost the rest of my birthday money and more! should i get it? i beleve it is worth it, but i want a "second opinion". here is a pic of it,

it says it comes with :
- motor, mounting hardware, AC-DC Adapter, lift-cable, and illustrated instructions
-Works similar to a fishing reel, a reversible motor with adjustable stop settings stops door at open and closed positions you set, no counter-weight needed
-Motor can lift and lower a door up to 4 pounds, with door openings up to 25 inches, if your door swings open, you can convert it to vertical lift by installing it in side-channels
-Plug-in ready to your lamp timer switch or INSTEON controller

THIS COST 82 DOLLARS NOT COUNTING SHIPING.

P.s: DjSams, how does that work?

I have the pullet shut door. Once I got the hang of setting it I love it. I bought a solar battery maintainer at a local store for $25 and a lawnmower battery for $25 I hook up the battery maintainer maybe once a month when I reset the door to allow for light changes. It is so nice not having to wake up at 6:30 to let the girls out.

This is ours ... It operates two seperate doors in two seperate pens

That looks pretty good. I am wondering how you automated this.

2 timers & 2 solenoids?
2 timers & 2 pumps?
2 timers & 1 solenoid & 1 pump?
1 timer & 1 pump & 1 bell syphon?
