Being new this sounds like a great idea but one concern... Are all the chickens in the coop when the door shuts lol?

If your Chicken run is screened in to keep predators out, do I need the door to be shut at night? I live in Florida so most our temps are not that bad. On those really cold nights I can close it but just curious how important a door is. Maybe I am missing something on why a door should be shut if your chicken run is screened in?

I just dont want to spend $250.00 on a door and realize I really don't need it like say someone who free ranges..
