Has anyone ever used one of those automatic foundation vents (8"x16") the kind that open at 70F and close at 40F

I was thinkingof mounting them as air vents up at the roof line on two sides of the coop.

Thanx,

David

Hens need ventilation even if it is cold. Sigh I wish it were usable. I am still tweeking my light and heat needs. Jean

I'm not sure you'll get much good out of it. You need ventilation when it's 40 F too, you just have to adjust it according to the wind and temperature. So you could not have those auto vent things control *all* your vents... and if you're manually adjusting some then why not all. The only real benefit I could see would be perhaps as supplemental vents in a climate where you frequently get very hot in the day but then very cold again when the sun goes down.

Sorry, just callin' it the way I see it,

Pat
