Average wait to sex chicks

I suppose that's the risk you take hatching your own. If it indeed (and it looks pretty likely) is a cockerel he'll just end up in camp freezer and we'll have to try again. I'd rather not have to do it, but I won't keep two roosters with the number of hens I have. Looks like I can hatch a couple more next year

You might follow this link to get some clues as to how to sex chicks. Some are a lot easier than others. Normally I can tell about 5 weeks which is which but I’ve had some I was not sure of at 3 months. They are all different.
