We are trying to do everything possible to keep our chickens healthy this winter, after the nightmare we went through last year with ILT and then Avian TB. I just ordered them 12 lbs of kelp to supplement their feed, as I read about it's nutritional value. I wondered if we should order some Aviacharge too? Don't want to get too carried away...we are supplementing their scratch and grain with as much variety of scraps as we can, to simulate forage while they can't get any through the winter... and they seem to be of good weight, healthy, and happy. I read that Kelp has a lot of minerals and stuff too, so maybe Aviacharge would be overkill?

Avia Charge has a lot of kelp in it. It's mostly fish and seaweed oils with lactobacillus and other live culture things to aid digestion. Don't know if that helps any!

This may sound completely crazy, and may have been mere coincidence, but my chickens got sick both times when I tried using Avia Charge. I just threw the container out and have had healthy birds since.

The aviacharge is a complete supplement so I would be careful combining it with a bunch of other stuff (you can but research what you are doing when using any supplemental food item such as kelp etc.... too much of a good thing is a bad thing)

...sometimes the birds will object to having something like aviacharge put in their waterer (you can not leave it in there either you must change it daily)... when they do object they may refuse to drink their water with all the consequences... You can add the aviacharge to their feed also or yogurt.

Our girls absolutely LOVE the Aviacharged water, which smells like low tide. Then again they love sardines, too.... good seacoast Maine chickens!!

OK, thank you, and that pretty much confirms what I was thinking. I think we'll just stick with the occasional kelp supplement, and leave everything else the way it is.
