I’m getting my first batch of poultry ever next week and had planned on brooding them outside on grass. Just learned about avian flu going around and now I’m wondering if I need to change up my plan?

For reference, I’m getting 24 bourbon red poults, but posting here since it seems to get more visibility and I’ve seen several chick-specific posts about brooding on grass but none about poults. Hope that’s okay.

Brooding,, means keeping in a warmed protected environment until feathered out. Once feathered, then keep where is convenient for you. 24 turkeys is sizable monetary investment. Keep them where safe, until the Avian Flu dangers pass. Check to see it it is present in your area. My understanding is, the flu is present further north of your state. At this time.

WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, :highfive:
