Broke 2 eggs, separated the yolks, put them in a skillet, and cooked them on both sides. Waited for them to cool--about an hour--until they were a bit rubbery. Took a scissors to the flat yolk patty and cut it into skinny strips, maybe 1/2" wide. They looked like yellow yolk worms! So I dropped 3-4 of them in, and they had a blast chasing each other and fussing about their find! It was so fun, and it's a good treat for them, too! Just wanted to share my little invention!

I hardly cook for my family during the week, but it seems I'll cook for chickies!

Thanks for sharing your idea, I'm going to try that!!

I just fed a junebug to my babies, it's adorable the way they run around with their prize peeping away, hoping I think someone will chase them!!

You sound like me! I hardly ever cook anything anymore. However, DH called at lunch time today and asked what I was doing. When I told him I was making oatmeal, he said, "Late breakfast?" and I replied, "No silly, it's for the chickens and I'm mixing some sand in with it!"
