Awww ... my chickies wubs me ....

I have two chicks that I'm getting rather fond of. One is a white who-knows-what and the other is a black australorp. The white one is the biggest and boldest of all 21 chicks in the brooder. He is first to run up to my hand and say hi, and hop on for his "airplane" ride. If I don't do the airplane fast enough, he starts "flying" himself until I catch up. After a few ups and downs, he grabs on to my finger with his toes and zonks out for a snooze.

The australorp used to get under my hand and jump at the white chicks feet while he was airplaning. Last night, the he decided he wanted to ride, too, so on the down trip, the black chick flies onto my hand, too, then promptly falls over for a nap. Now, 3 week old birds aren't THAT heavy, but when you got two 3 week old BIG BONDED chicks snoozing and getting all cranky when you move your arm ... it gets a bit hard to hold them up. Lol.

Awww! How do you do the airplane ride?

I think some of my chicks will lovelovelove that! (Especially one that's named Pilot.

Lol. Blanca hops on the back of my hand and I just move my arm up and down and on the way down, she flaps her wings and "airplanes". She gets a kick out of it. Lol. I guess it would be more like an elevator than an airplane. Lol.

But sometimes she'll hold her wings out like she's gliding.
