That chicken is mine as well and she is the second hen we have lost of 5. I believe she has lice. It looks like light colored powder running all over her body. How do we treat the rest? And can we eat the two that have died?

It's probably mites. You need to get some Sevin dust ASAP. You will need to dust all the birds, thoroughly clean out the coop and treat it and the roosts and nesting boxes. Then in 7-10 days you will need to do it all over again. Mites are a deadly pain in the neck. If the birds are not treated promptly, there is a good chance you will lose them all.

You can eat the others if you want. Mites are not dangerous to humans. I don't eat dead birds unless I killed them myself, but that is just squeamishness on my part. There's no reason why you can't eat the ones that have died.
