Just an FYI. I was sure hawks and owls only made dive kills, never walk-ups. Earlier I lost 4 CX chicks to what turned out to be an owl walking up to their cage and decapitateing them as they slept with their heads through the 1" square sides at night, then dragging out what they could by pieces. Now I've lost two larger juvies of other breeds to one who is going into a lighted coop at night; hot wire keeps ground predators out of both the pen and coop 24/7 so the coop has always stayed open to the pen, and this has turned out to be a mistake.
