Help!
hmm.png

My Coturnix quail that just hatched today are in the brooder. However a couple of them are biting the other ones feet, they dont let go. They are dragging the other baby by the foot. Is this normal? What do I do about it??

They always do this. It should stop, but if not you might have to seperate the mean ones.

ETA: Make sure they are finding their food, they are probably hungry

I normaly raise chickens, just starting with quail. I am afraid quail may become addictive too!

Which is exactly why quail chicks shouldn't be fed worms until they are at least a few weeks old and know the difference

Mine were "special" when hatched... should've named them all ed....

It's best to take the weaker quail out to a different brooder til they get up on there feet. I belive all quail chicks are football players. they see one laying down and decide that one is the ball lets jump on him then the ref grabs the feet of the one down and respots the ball whistle blows they jump on the ball again or see how many times they can run over the ball hoping to move it.
