Hi all,

I am new here and have a question. I guess I shouldn't mess with anything if things are fine, but I got a roo, hen and four babies to start last Friday. They seem to be fine, the roo and hen look out for the babies (probably about 5 weeks old-almost completely feathered). We added seven hens from another source two days later. Are these babies in danger? The mother hen seems to take care of them- but for how long? I am mentally prepared for casualties but really don't want any...is this normal for all to be together and get along?

I think if you put them in and they didn't attack them IMMEDIATELY, you are probably fine. Most of the time attacks happen when newbies are introduced, because they are viewed as "intruders". If they have gotten past the "intruder alert" stage and have been accepted, they should be fine!
