Hi, I'm new to this kind of thing so please don't get mad at me. But I have a baby chick that has an eye problem and not feeling to well. The baby chick, when I found him was standing in the corner of the coop and opening his beak looking like he is taking gulps of air. When I took a closer look at him, his eyes were swollen and dripping out some liquid substance. I took him away from the other chickens and isolated him. But I don't what he has. Some kind of disease or infection. Can someone please tell me what it is or how can I treat it.

It does look like some kind of infection especially as you said there was liquid coming from it. This could be just an eye infection from a peck for example or a respiratory infection can cause this too. Is there any goo or liquid coming from the nostrils? You have done the right thing in separating the chick from the others if it's contagious you don't want it spread around any more. Some antibiotics may be in order for the chick. Also some food to give the chick some energy will also help. Scrambled or boiled chopped egg is good or even some tuna. Some electrolytes in the water would also help. Please do post in the emergencies injuries disease and cure section of the forum. Here is the link ~
