Help I have a 5 day old orpington chick, who has had laboured breathing for 2 days, she seemed better this morning, heat lamp is reading 34.4 degrees celcius, she has been eating and drinking, and occassionally chirps, but the other 3 are fine, I suspect she is getting very tired with this, what to do our vets dont treat chickens. When i took her out of the box, she rested her head on my hand and started breathing through her nose??? please advise

just adding, she is no better, should I ask the vet for antibiiotics, if so what type, we are in New Zealand in the city so the vets never see chickens!!

Update... shes alive!!.... I treated her respiratory problem using Ventolin and a spacer..I put her beak on the end of spacer (usually reserved for a human mouth) and did a few puffs, did this every few hours for about 5 days and she got stronger and stronger, now perfectly ok, none of the other chicks got this respiratory infection
