Baby Chick has paste butt

Everyday, my baby silkie chick has paste butt. I wash it off. What is wrong? Why does he have it everyday?

It's body is still young and might have stress. If your chick was shipped then that could cause it. I add some apple cider vinegar to their water and wipe the area with a wet cloth or if it's really bad then I run it under warm water to get rid of it. The mommy hens cleans it up when it happens while she's raising them. A pasty butt can kill a baby chick so keep up the good work. But please add the acv the one with the mother in it is the best.
