I got a batch of new chicks, and they've just now been set free to roam the coop. We kept them in a carrier (made of chicken wire) within the coop for a while so the older chicks could get used to them, and now they are free to roam. I noticed when I checked on them tonight that one of my two buff orpingtons looked sort of... green in the face. At first I thought it might have been getting picked at, but it had feathers on its face, or at least the same amount as my other buff. But this chick looks gray/green in the face, and it has me concerned. Is this a disease? Are the chicks just not getting access to food/water from the other chicks? Help!

Mixing different ages of chicks could bring about the possibility of coccidiosis which may show up as pale skin, lethargy, puffing up, diarrhea, and not eating. I would spend some time in with them watching, and make sure there are multiple waterers and feeders because there is always bullying with food and water when integrating chickens. Coccidiosis is treated with Corid (amprollium) for 5 days in the water.

I have the same sort of thing. Mine are Golden Buffs from Meyer's. They have a blue/greenish tint around their eyes. Not part of their eye, but around the eye. They all appear happy and pooping fine, eating and drinking and making merriment as chicks do. Is it a thing?

It could just be the thin skin of the chicks, that you are seeing the color of the eyes underneath.
