Hello! I have recently hatched, took them from a hen so they development was staggered. First four chicks are perfect, but the ones I've gotten in this next set are having awful trouble The first in this next age group hatched fine, though it did seem to have breathing trouble. It ended up hock setting on one leg with blood leaking from it, and clicking in the breathing. Poor thing didn't suffer long. However, this new one was born perfectly fine, but one day I looked in and it was limping, but more in an injured fashion than hock setting. And, on the same side as the limp, her eye is closed, and the iris has turned white in the middle of the black. It has been eating and drinking and hoping around, but she's declined and isn't improving. I separated her so she can be next to the others but they can't step on her. Has anyone heard of something like this? Is there something I'm doing that is causing this? She has the same clicking on her breathing, I'm wondering if the humidity is to high or low in the bator? Thanks guys!

There are electrolight chick mixes you can give her in her water, yogurt and scrambled eggs. I am not sure what to tell you about the eye other than my guess is if she doesn’t react on that side she is likely blind, I have heard of the clicking in other forum posts but I can’t remember what ones it was, either way good luck and any of those three things should help her feel better until the smarter “hens” arrive to help you out.
