Clover is a really rambunctious 1 week old chick, and she's alread shown herself to be fully capable of jumping/flying on top of the brooder. Very energetic, and she seems very sure that she was meant to fly.
A couple nights ago (she had attempted this before and failed) she managed to jump onto the brooder's edge (which is about three times her height, maybe more), and seemed pretty content there until she realized she couldn't see her friends anymore.
I tried to pick her up and set her back in, but she hurled herself back down inside before I could and crashed into a wire mesh partition set up to temporarily quarantine another chick with a bleeding toenail.
Immediately after she was making loud distressed peeps, and dropping and lifting her right wing. After preening it she seemed alright, and the wing isn't drooping.
Her spirit is entirely undamaged by what happened so she's been flapping and zooming around like normal, but if she flaps too much she drops her wing again and starts preening it.
Should I try and wrap it or see if it heals on its own?
